Dying To Self; Living For Christ
September 2024.
S is a graduate of the first batch of Acts training students in his region. He is the eldest son of a Buddhist family, brought up in a remote village. While S was studying in eighth grade, his family was facing financial challenges and could no longer afford to pay for him to continue in school. Since he was the eldest son of the family, S had to drop out of school to work to help support his family and put his younger siblings through school. To forget about his frustration of having to leave his friends and drop out of school to work for his family, he began to drink rice beer and homemade alcohol.
One day, S met local evangelist brother SL, who shared with him about Jesus. Since then, he felt peace and continued to attend the local house fellowship. Over time, the Holy Spirit convicted him of his sins and led him to repent. With the help of brother SL, S accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. S’s life was completely transformed. By seeing his changed life, S's sister also accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. As they journeyed together in this new way of life through fellowship with other believers, they were so excited to know the Lord Jesus. S worked as a dock laborer for a transport company during this time. He was happy with his daily wages, but he and his sister wanted to share the power of the gospel with their communities and with their people.
The answer to S's prayer about sharing the gospel came when he heard about Acts training. While attending training, he fully surrendered his life to serve the Lord during one of his classes and committed to reach out to the people groups of his village, whose languages he speaks fluently. Immediately after completing the last module of his training, S's mother was swept away while crossing the swift-flowing river in his home village. News about the loss of his mother came as a crushing blow to S. Though the divine comfort of the Holy Spirit and the fellowship of his fellow students, S was comforted and regained his spiritual calling to win his own people groups to the Lord.
On 27th July 2024, despite losing his mother, S completed his classes and graduated with the first batch of students in his area. He has a strong desire to plant churches in the remotest villages where the gospel has not been taken.
