Demon Flees Family because of Christ

October 2024

Mr. D was born in a high mountain area. He was brought up in a community that worships nature and the spirits of dead ancestors. When anyone in his village would develop a serious illness, they would go to the local witch doctor for healing.

D’s early life was very difficult. He was one of five children, and his parents and siblings all depended on farming to survive. The main reason life was so difficult was that all of his family members, including himself, suffered from an unknown kind of epilepsy. When an episode would occur, his family members would all start shaking uncontrollably and then faint for 4-5 hours. This happened daily. His family was always anxious and exhausted because they could not work the field properly to provide enough food. They spent all their savings seeking treatment from the local witch doctor, but their health was not improving.

D questioned why his life was so difficult; why he was born at all. His life was passing in sorrow with no hope for relief. He was filled with despair and always has tears in his eyes.

One day, a relative of his family visited his home who was a pastor. When this pastor heard about their sickness, he shared about the love of God with D’s family. He assured them that God could heal them and explained the gospel of Jesus Christ. D and his whole family surrendered their lives to Jesus that day with a true sense of hope of being healed. By the mercy of God, a miracle happened, and the entire family was never troubled again by seizures or fainting spells. D’s uncle-pastor told them it was an evil spirit that had been attacking them and making them sick. D and his family felt like new light shining down from heaven above was gracing their lives because of the salvation they found in Jesus Christ. Because of what God had done, D believed that Jesus was the only true God and Savior of the world.

Upon reaching adulthood, now having found the answer to his question for why he had been born into this world, he surrendered his life for the ministry, wanting to offer others the same eternal relationship he now experienced with God through Jesus Christ. He has since started a small fellowship in his village. Wanting to know more about God and the Bible, D has joined an Acts training cohort. He has a vision to return to the mountain village where he grew up and plant a church there, as well as evangelize the surrounding villages.
