Walk Across the Office

October 30th, 2023

While we all love stories of miracles, dreams of Jesus, and a extravagant life circumstances peaking people’s curiosity in Christ; often, God uses normal people, living normal lives to advance His gospel globally. Such was the case in the life of a 2020 Acts Training Institute graduate whom we will call B.

Years ago, B left South Asia in search for work. He accepted an opportunity in Malaysia, a country with a Muslim majority. Yet, B had a Christian co-worker who bought into the worthiness of Christ to receive all glory, and he began sharing the gospel with B. Day in and day out, this co-worker—living a normal life, working a normal job—would share about the One who had transformed His life and had the power to transform B’s.

After some time, B ha a dramatic vision of the Christ his co-worker had been telling him about. Though the vision was inexpressibly impactful, it was because of his co-workers constant witness that B had a framework for understanding his vision. The Spirit used the vision and the witness of B’s co-worker to turn him to Christ.

After three years in Malaysia, B returned home and began to share the gospel with his own people. Now, B oversees four churches and engages in physically taxing evangelism as he walk 14-16 hours a week through the mountains sharing about Jesus. B has led over 200 people to Jesus and has seen 160 of those people baptized.

We thank God that He uses supernatural means to facilitate the conversion of the lost. Yet, we also thank God that He often chooses ordinary means—the obedience of His people—to see those bound in the kingdom of darkness freed into the Kingdom of Light.
